Think it’s too late to get your career on track? Think again! The Philly Future Track program provides on-the-job skill training and real-world work experience to better position yourself for work with the City of Philadelphia and other employers throughout the region. Participation in this 5-month program is NOT a guarantee of full-time employment, but select participants may have the opportunity to transition to full-time civil service employment with the City of Philadelphia upon successful completion of program. To qualify you must be eligible to work in the U.S. and a Philadelphia resident.
Philly Future Trackers will work in teams on various cleaning, transportation and sanitation related projects, while attending classroom training and gaining direct experience with City and non-City employees and programs. Team members participate in a 5-month, paid program consisting of 5 workdays.
Receives on-the-job training and experience with the objective of gaining meaningful work experience and skills to ensure preparedness for success in today’s workforce environment; performs clean up and community beautification work in designated neighborhoods, business corridors and alleyways; lifts heavy debris, clearing litter and illegal dumping sites; performs beautification and greening of assigned areas; takes appropriate care for and return of loaned equipment and supplies; maintains a conscious commitment to safety while conducting responsibilities; performs other general support work in completing projects and assignments.
Receives on-the-job and formal classroom training and experience with the objective of gaining meaningful work experience and skills related to maintaining and repairing city streets and roadways; learns how to use specialized tools and equipment in digging ditches and in breaking street surfaces, compacting loose earth with pneumatic or hand tools and using rakes and tampers to spread asphaltic road building material in patching street surfaces; works with higher-level maintenance workers to assist in preparing various roadway areas for maintenance and repair; may also learn how to rake/pour concrete and install line striping; learns the operation of basic machinery and equipment used in performing roadway maintenance; performs other general support work in completing projects and assignments.

Future Track program expectations regarding performance and behavior are important factors that should be considered when applying for participation in the 2018 FUTURE TRACK PROGRAM.
